Internship Opportunities

How would you feel about riding in an airplane with a first time pilot who had only 'flown'  flight simulators, even though he had a 4.0 average? If that seems ridiculous, it is no different than someone entering the ministry with good grades, but with no real ministry experience to go along with their theology. All regularly enrolled students participate in at least one major internship opportunity ensuring real, hands-on ministry is experienced before completing any program of study.

NYSUM Internship

Most students earn practical ministry units in urban evangelism through an internship in the heart of New York City at the New York School of Urban Ministry (NYSUM). This internship is completed during the spring following freshman year or in the months of September and October during the student’s junior year. Married students can obtain ministry experience locally as designated by the ministry department.

Senior Internship

Students enrolled in one of our three year programs earn five practical ministry units upon successfully completing their senior internship. This internship consists of service with one or more pastors, missionaries, or teachers ministering in the area of the student’s minor. Working side-by-side with Christian leaders, you will learn what is involved in the day-to-day ministry of your choice.
