Week of Prayer kicked off the spring semester in a way few had anticipated. It has been a semester marked by a hunger for God that will not stop! In the words of Dr. John Miller, God is “Jehovah-Sneaky.” Sometimes He moves in ways we do not expect! God is moving on here on our campus.

The intense ministries and the immense amount of fun we had exploring every inch of New York City made NYSUM (New York School of Urban Ministry) an experience that I will never forget. The people I bonded with and the lessons I learned will last a lifetime. Through NYSUM, I learned the importance of teamwork and how to love people the way God sees them, not the way man sees them.

As he walked into the building, his phone rang—it was his father, and he was crying. "You need to call your grandma," he said. Thinking that was strange, Ryan called his grandma, who was also crying. "Would $5,000 be enough for you to stay at school?" she asked.

The room was busting with laughter, as I conveyed my story.  I was laughing so hard I thought I’d cry!  We all agreed, "That’s it; Elim was hard, but it was good!" And most of our alumni no doubt have several of their own stories to tell too!
