Pastor Mike Cavanaugh

Rev. Mike Cavanaugh has served as the President of Elim Bible Institute and College since 2012. He previously served for 20 years as the founding and Senior Pastor of Elim Gospel Church, a dynamic congregation of nearly 1,000 people in Lima, NY. He is also an elder of Elim Fellowship, an association of 900 pastors, missionaries and ministers, and he served as its Vice President for 14 years.

In his early ministry years, he founded BASIC, a local church-based ministry to college students that still reaches campuses all across the Northeast. He also founded Mobilized to Serve, a ministry to single adults, and is the author of The Power and Purpose of Singleness.

A motivating speaker known for his clarity, humor and use of illustration, Mike has traveled extensively to minister in churches and ministries in the U.S. and overseas. Due to his broad leadership experience and heart to equip leaders, he is also often invited to speak at pastors’ and leadership events.

Mike graduated from Elim Bible Institute and College in 1976. He also has a BS in Organizational Management degree from Roberts Wesleyan College and a Master of Theological Studies degree from Bakke Graduate University.

Mike and his wife, Terri, reside in Lima, NY. They have three adult children and nine grandchildren.
